ISE 2018 - Executive Summary
The "new" hotspot for modern AV solutions and high-performance managed services
What an exciting week! 15 halls, 1,288 exhibitors from 78 countries on a total of 53,300 square meters of exhibition space - these are just some of the figures from this year's ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) in Amsterdam. Initially considered a small and manageable AV expo, ISE has become one of the largest and most important digital signal trade shows. Audio/video technologies and solutions alongside a large area of system integration make it an important destination from a UCC point of view and reason enough for us, UC Point, to be there and dive into the latest trends. So what makes this a must-see event for us? Let’s take a look!
With digital transformation and Workplace 4.0, we are experiencing a world that is characterized by collaboration and communication that is growing us together as a large network. Even today, employees work two times more in remote teams than five years ago. But not only that, the technical infrastructure we use today to facilitate meetings, organize our correspondence or even tackle and delegate cross-team tasks has changed significantly. Just think about our smartphones, tablets and the many apps that are now being used both privately and professionally.
We see this "modernization" especially in the conferencing area. While up until a few years ago videoconferencing was still more reserved for upper management in their designated conferencing rooms, today teams are meeting in flexible meeting environments - brainstorming, meeting in open spaces, in huddle rooms or in the afore mentioned executive conference room. The need for video solutions for these smaller meeting rooms continues to grow. And this is exactly where we see the future as UCC and conferencing experts: Companies need the right infrastructure for every meeting situation. And that leads the trend away from the static conference room towards smaller, flexible and dynamic conferencing solutions.
But the ISE is also ahead of this trend: this year's focus was on the convergence of audio and video (AV) and specialized service collaboration solutions. On one hand, it's about giving companies exactly the conferencing structure they need. Of course, traditional AV providers are very well positioned here and offer everything that your heart desires. On the other hand, a highly complex IT infrastructure needs appropriate service packages, so that the environment works seamlessly and is adopted by all employees. This particularly applies to comprehensive Managed Services, which for example begins with the planning and setup of a meeting room all the way to the continuous support and monitoring of all conferencing systems.
And that is one of our core competences. UC Point delivers the most advanced conferencing solutions in the Skype Room System V2, bringing your Skype for Business / Teams client to the meeting room. In combination with the out-of-the-box audio and video devices of well-known manufacturers such as Polycom, Logitech, Lenovo or Crestron, your huddle rooms or shared office spaces become a high-performance workplace and optimally supported conferencing area.
With our OneConnectServices we can also provide the right service packages for your Skype Room Systems V2. Whether you are just starting to plan new meeting spaces or are looking for unique ways to upgrade your existing conference rooms, we offer optimally defined services in three packages - Assess, Deploy and Maintain – which we were able to present exclusively at our Logitech partner booth during the ISE. The reaction of the visitors showed us that we are providing a decisive building block for the future conferencing strategy with OneConnectServices.
Our personal conclusion: The Integrated System (ISE) in Amsterdam is an up and coming trade show for the UCC industry, and has already become very important on the international market. This shows us the numerous participation of visitors from all over the world. And that`s why I can already say today: See you next year from Feb 5 to Feb 8, 2019!
